An Actors Journey

What I’ve been up to lately…

August 9th, 2007

Ok so it’s been a few months that I haven’t posted any news on what I’ve been up to.  I could go on and on about how busy I have been filming new projects but the fact of the matter is, I’ve been really lazy and haven’t had the desire to write anything.  Yes I have been working on new projects.  I actually just finished shooting a Heinz commercial that should be posted for a contest on their site in the coming weeks.

I have also performed again the Lead role of Jose in the play “Lessons Learned” in the public schools in and around NYC.  I can still connect with this character because I still remember what it was like when I was graduating Lehman High School and had to figure out what my plan for life was going to be.  The last performance we did in Queens was an exciting one and I felt the audience really connected with the cast.

I’ve also been on a few auditions for other theatre and film roles.  I’ll keep my fingers crossed and keep going full steam ahead because “I know I can” little quote for JC from one of his favorite shows :)

One last piece of news to wrap this up, ActorsConnect.com is still going strong and we are averaging more than a handful of user registrations a day!  This free social network geared towards Actors, directors, entertainers, etc. that was founded a couple a years ago by yours truly me.  We don’t intend to compete with myspace but we do intend to continue to bring castings notices and more useable functions & site content to this very niche market.  Also stay on the look out for some new solutions spewing from the geeky side of my brain ;)

Till then, be well…

Life is like a Yo-Yo

May 11th, 2007

When I think about my youth I remember the days I would play with a yo-yo and I can’t help to think that life is like that.  There are a lot of ups and downs and if you know how to do tricks with a yo-yo you’ll know what I mean when I say you can also have a yo-yo rest at the bottom of the string.  That essentially symbolizes the steady state of your life.

So is having a yo-yo type of life bad?  Well I guess it depends who’s controlling the string in your life and when do you at some point just get a pair of scissors and cut the string.  Or what happens more times than not, someone else cuts the string for you because you never totally have control of your life even though we would always want to believe we have.

Well that’s it for my yo-yo analogy, if you’re curious about what types of yo-yo’s I had when I was younger then feel free to review this website.

Paris a future Jail bird, Say it ain’t so!!

May 9th, 2007

Anyone have any thoughts on celebrities and this weird notion of sending them to jail. Like who would’ve thought that just because you are a celebrity you are suceptable to the same laws as everyone else.

I nearly laughed my pants off when I saw the news clipping of Paris saying that she was being treated unfairly and the crime was too harsh. Growing up in NYC and the streets of the Bronx, I’ve seen a fair share of harshness and going to jail for 45 days should teach Paris a lesson that will stick with her for the rest of her “Simple Life”

The unfortunate part of this is that maybe she is being used as an example for all other spoiled celebrities but oh well, there’s always a first and lucky for us it’s her.

Good luck in jail Paris, I need a new license plate anyway…

Question:

Have you ever had something “broken” or just break down at the last minute when it is so close to your grasp of fixing altogether?  I’m sure we all have experienced this before.  One of the interesting things is to see how the issue is dealt with, how do you pick up and power forward?!.  Do you give up hope or do you continue on as you originally planned and see if you still have time to fix the issue?

Well obviously it depends on the circumstances but if you really really and I mean really desire something so much that it hurts you so much then I think it’s almost imperative that you don’t give up!

Kick things into gear and if plan A is slowing you up, then kick plan B into gear in parallel and things will work out :)

Dilemma

January 18th, 2007

If you are down 500 on roulette, do you keep playing big to try and win back your money or do you cut your losses and try to entertain yourself with something else?

Hmmm…signs of, I need to call gambling anonymous… ;) or I just need my lucky charm… 319

Feeling a bit poetic lately…

January 8th, 2007

and since I am not really good at writing poems figured I’d google and these below caught my eye…enjoy

Poem Title: Never Give Up On Yourself

My life has been good
That I must admit
But there were times
When I did want to quit
But I always had someone
Telling me don’t give in
Because when you don’t give your all
That is the real sin

If you are blessed with abilities
That others do not posess
Then you must always give all
And strive to do your best

Living life is no secret
It’s as plain to see as the sky
Those who are successful
Are the ones who are willing to try

And when things go wrong
As they sometimes do
That when people watch you close
To see just what you’ll do

And if what they thought
About you is true
A little setback
Will never stop you

So never give up trying
Giving up is a sign of those who fail
And to give up on yourself
Is a sign of self-betrayal

Poem Title: ~BE POSITIVE~

I know being positive is difficult
When you are feeling low
At that moment just trust God
His miracle he will show
Whatever happens is for the best
Its written there for you
Just take it as it comes
For this life is meant for you

I know its difficult for you to understand
Right at this point of time
But its upto you how you live it
Surely your views will agree with mine…

  Poem Title: Love Conquers All

I’m here because I love you
On my knees I will carry you to Jesus
He will see you through this difficult time
His healing touch will restore you to perfect health
You shall rise above this challenge
Angels and cherubs will rejoice in heaven as they celebrate your healing
Be strong…….. your work here is not done
You touch the lives of many with your beautiful eyes and heart of an angel
God has a plan for your life
Choose to trust in his word
You are healed by the power of the living Christ
Believe that from the core of your being
The potter awaits your arrival
He will restore you body and soul

Lucky numbers and a shining light

January 7th, 2007

People have a lot of opinions on what is a lucky and unlucky number, I know for me 15 is and has always been my lucky number.  It brought me luck last year and so I think I’m going to try my luck again in a few weeks when I turn a year older… :(

Some say with age comes wisdom, so I’m hoping that a few things happen with age and no it’s not that I’m hoping for gray’s but I’m hoping to be very lucky this year…  Anyway, lets see how 15 black and 9 red are in the lucky numbers category this year as well as, si dios quiere and if Walter M. says they will be… lol
